Tamal Sarkar

Hi. I am Tamal. My on-stage journey started during my school days in 1970s and thereafter I acted in a wide array of characters including roles of landlord, tenant, father, servant, police, villager, king, mythological (comedy) characters, etc. in plays written by Badal Sarkar, Manoj Mitra, Piklu Guha Niyogi, Chandan Sen, Nabaneeta Deb Sen, Narayan Gangopadhya, etc. My stint with Bachhor Koori Porey is as recent as 2022 with Itikawtha. I am also associated with Peoples Theatre Group and have performed in “Dhuh” and with Nirbak Academy and performed in “Soudamini”. I play on the violin, compose sound (for theatres only) and love to do short and impactful roles. I am D.Phil. in Economics and specialise in promoting MSMEs.
